Lalla Mussa Dal*

Urad and moong dals simmered for 36 hours on slow fire. One of the best selling dishes at the Yellow Chilli restaurants is the Lalla Mussa Dal. On record days, a couple of hundred litres getting dished out is normal! This dal is believed to have been cooked overnight with spices at the Lalla Mussa station in the North West Frontier Province. It has base of whole black lentils that is essentially heat producing and heavy, it is beautifully balanced with the lightness of green lentils and enhanced with goodness of butter, cream and ghee
